SHOULD YOU DO A FIRST LOOK | IS IT FOR YOU?
There is never a right or wrong answer to this question. This is completely based upon the feelings of YOU and whether or not you feel it’s best for you and your partner. The tips below should help you decide whether the wedding first look is for you! So you’ll no longer have to ask should you do a first look | is it for you?
IT IS NOT FOR YOU:
IF YOU DON’T MIND MISSING COCKTAIL HOUR
Sometimes cocktail hour isn’t a priority! And that is completely ok. If you want to take that very first hour after the ceremony to be cuddling up with your babe, and you prioritize it over cocktail hour – then so be it! That’s completely ok! That first hour after you’re announced as married is a special one. So think about the fact of is cocktail hour is important enough, or if being together just one on one is more important!
IF YOU HAVE AN AFTERNOON-ISH CEREMONY (4pm-6pm)
Something you’ll want to think about is what kind of portraits are you looking for? Do you want your couples portraits to be in mid-day light, bright and shiny summer sun – or would you prefer to wait until about 2 hours before sunset. Some of our couples seem to have a say or preference in when they want their portraits taken: so if this is you, then this is something to think about.
IF YOU WANT EVERYONE PRESENT AS YOU SEE EACH OTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME
To some, this is more important than others, and again that is totally and completely ok. But if this moment is one of the MOST important to you on your wedding day, then don’t settle for a first look. You should prioritize what you want the most and go for it! Don’t let anyone ever talk you out of what you really want to do.
IF THESE ANSWERS DON’T RESONATE WITH YOU, THEN MAYBE A FIRST LOOK IS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT.
