WEST VILLAGE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

This west village engagement session was so personalized with locations that really meant something to Christine and David. Christine and David have lived in in NYC for quite some time, but used to live in the West Village. They spent many days just getting lost in the city, browsing little shops and learning about the history of NYC. Not only did i get to explore where David and Christine hung out, we were also able to photograph amazing photos of them in their element.

This bookstore, Christine had spent a lot of time at. We tried to get some photos INSIDE, but the bookstore owner wasn’t having it. Pro Tip: if you are looking to shoot at locations that are public like this, be sure to get permission from the owner first. Sometimes the creative director isn’t crazy about it, or they don’t allow it all together.

We had stopped here on our stroll, at Jeffrey’s Grocery in the West Village. The bartender was super cool, and allowed us to take  a few minutes to shoot. However, we had to purchase something: sooo, shhh, but all 3 of us took a tequila shot right after this shot was taken above.

The West Village is really filled with amazing historical alley ways. Christine and David love this about the West Village. They said they would always find something new on each walk they would take.

Speaking of alleys. THIS alley is super super important to these two. This is the exactly alley where David proposed to Christine. Yes, RIGHT HERE. Unfortunately there was construction happening on the exact spot where it happened, but we were still able to photograph them on the same alley. How cool!

And in closing, this coffee shop Caffe Reggio, was a place where David would frequently stop for coffee when they lived in the West Village. We had walked up to this coffee shop two separate times trying to get a seat. It’s a super well known place, but i knew it was important to David — so we waited and waited!

These two are so incredibly sweet, and i absolutely loved being the one to photograph their west village engagement session!!
